Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

There is no way that the settlement on At-Attin is thousands of years old. You could not keep population growth in check for that long.
Why would they need to? It's a whole planet. Just because they have a singular focus doesn't mean they necessarily lack all the skillsets and resources to grow their society along with the population, or even if they do, there are always droids to put in the work.

Having a mixture of species probably helps, too - smaller pool of potential partners for each species, and since cross-species romance seems accepted (and presumably doesn't lead to offspring) that would also slow things down.

I do not think it would be explicitly connected to Darth Plagueis, but Plagueis was a Muun, and the Muun ran the Intergalactic Banking Clan. I thought I heard the Banking Clan mentioned in the show.

For an episode or two I thought Jod might be what happens when a talented Force sensitive is found too late and not trained. But his stuff about forgetting attachments sounds way too Jedi for him not to have been trained by them. And the whole confrontation between him and the "We're just kids!" crew seems like it is supposed to directly evoke the murder of the younglings.

The show is a bit slow. I am enjoying it, but I am worried that my Dad is just enduring it for me.

Population on Earth was fairly stable and exploded a few hundred years ago.

Post industrial population decline is more common. Star Wars has druoids for labor.

OK so the nine Jewels of the Republic were all mints, and At Attin is the last one.

According to SM-33, Captain Rennod was stabbed by his concubine and everyone died when the ship crashed on At Attin. Do we still think that Rennod didn’t actually die and is now the Supervisor?

The fact that we couldn’t clearly see him in the recording suggests yes.

But it does, at least for some alien species and humans, as there is a human-Twi'lek family in The Bad Batch and they have kids together.

They had cross species romance back in the 90s:).

Generally twi'lek-human or near humans. Sith.

Loved this episode anyway.

Kids are good not annoying. Jude Law has been great.

With Jacen Syndulla another kid not annoying.

Well, I think that takes care of all the theories that he is just using tricks and is not Force-sensitive. The next question is what kind of force user is he? Since he seems to know how a lightsaber works, I am sticking with the Padawan theory, as he is around the right age to have been a kid when Order 66 happened.
He seems to have some sort of tech glove on his hand. And all the things he moves are metal, so I think it is some sort of magnetic gadget that he uses. He could be familiar with tales of Jedi, their actions, and their code from his pre-Empire childhood or from the less restrictive attitude toward information about Jedi in the New Republic era.

If all nine of these hidden planets were built to look the same, then likely each of them was a mint. The US has 12 Federal Reserve locations to print and mint money, so why would a Galactic Republic have only one location for all their minting?
I agree that all nine worlds may have been mints. So the Banking Clan would have needed to destroy all nine - perhaps at the start of the clone wars. In which case, they were prevented from completing the job, and someone else co-opted the surviving mint.

It seems unlikely SM33s story is the unvarnished truth, but it’s possible it was the concubine who survived. Fern’s mum is playing everyone? Fern is Rennod’s daughter? Stranger coincidences have happened in Star Wars.

The degraded recording and headless statue suggest that Rennod is someone the audience would recognise though. Jod doesn’t seem old enough.
