Welcome back to our weekly look at tabletop roleplaying game, and accessories, crowdfunding roundup! Each week we’ll be looking at a few campaigns currently running that have caught our eye as well as occasionally speaking to some of the creators about their campaigns, or looking at some of the ‘behind the scenes’ business aspects of putting together, launching, operating and then delivering a crowdfunded project. If you have anything you’d like us to cover, or questions about anything we talk about, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or contact me directly.
It's that time again - the latest game system usage stats from The Orr Group, who produce the popular Roll20 virtual tabletop software. This set of figures is for Quarter 4, 2016, and shows no real surprises - D&D 5th Edition remains in the lead by a strong margin, and some trends have coincided with big movies or video games, such as Rogue One and a Pokemon thing. D&D 5E has increased by over 2% again this quarter, with Pathfinder maintaining its position. Apocalypse World has increased again, as have some foreign language games.
Wolfgang Baur and Kobold Press have set their sights to making their Midgard campaign setting an ‘Open World’, allowing anyone to design and publish their own material using the setting. They announced their intentions in their latest Midgard Campaign Setting: Dark Roads & Deep Magic Kickstarter Update.
The new crew at Chaosium is back with another wave of classic material for their Runequest Classic line, this time resurrecting the Cults of Prax and Cults of Terror books in PDF (with print books to come). With these books, the reprint line of Runequest Classic is closer to completion. Each of these books expands the world of Glorantha, and its cosmology, and offers new spells and skills for your Runequest characters.
With the announcement that we will finally be getting an official My Little Pony role-playing game, it's worth noting that the franchise has been returning the favor by referencing its own form of Dungeons & Dragons -- Ogres & Oubliettes.
A rundown of the New Releases that should be hitting games stores this coming week! Board games, card games, RPGs, Wargames, Miniatures and collectible games... hopefully something for everyone! For more information about any of the products please contact your local games store.
There are dozens of roleplaying game crowdfunding campaigns vying for your backing at any given time. In our weekly column we highlight some of these but there are many more that we sadly don’t have space to include. Well, not unless we want a *very* long column for you all to scroll through! Sometimes we see a number of campaigns appear offering a similar theme or item. With this in mind welcome to the Sound of Music Special Edition, where we look at three RPG audio campaigns currently available on Kickstarter.
2C Gaming have launched the second part of Jon Kelly and Steven Gordon’s Fate of the Forebears Adventure Path with City of Sands now on Kickstarter. Domes of Ishaq-Zahur, the first module in the six module series, launched the Fate of the Forebears Adventure Path starting with 5th level characters. The series should take characters up to 17th level and will be available for both Pathfinder and 5th Edition.
Shades of Vengeance have produced a number of games in their ‘Era’ universe and are now offering their Era: The Consortium Rulebook Primer free of charge in PDF to anyone.
It's another theme week, this time focusing on quality third-party sourcebooks for popular games and game systems. We've got a couple of 5e products, one for Pathfinder, a Cypher/Numenera Pick, and of course something for my personal favorite system, Savage Worlds. If you really want to spice up your games and move beyond the core releases, it's time to look at what third party licensees are doing with your favorite games!
In EN5ider's second article in this series (see EN5ider #125), we take a look at easily modern firearms. From blunderbusses to matchlocks, with new customizations and new items such as adamantine bullets, dragon's breath shot, and The Proclaimer, a blessed firearm, this article continues to expand on the firearms rules from the core rulebooks. By Walt Ciechanowski; illustrated by Indi Martin. Become a patron now to get this and over 100 other articles and adventures for your 5E game.
Slightly later in the week than usual (courtesy of me being away at a convention most of last week, knocking my schedule off - sorry!) but here's a rundown of the New Releases that should have hit games stores over the last week! Board games, card games, RPGs, Wargames, Miniatures and collectible games... hopefully something for everyone! For more information about any of the products please contact your local games store.

Hello everyone, Darryl here with this week’s gaming news! Starfinder announcements plus an update to Paizo’s organized play, The Lost Citadel coming to gaming, Modiphius’s Conan RPG released, Adventures in Middle Earth Loremaster’s Guide comes out, PETA butts heads with Games Workshop, and more!
After some online conversations on social media, I decided that I should talk about a few older games and supplements in my column here. I ran a Twitter poll with some options, some of which I may visit in future pieces, and Stormbringer came out as a pretty dominating choice. The game took the lead, and kept it throughout the duration of the poll. So, I hauled a couple of Stormbringer pieces out of my library: the second printing of the first edition Stormbringer boxed set put out by Chaosium, and the "third edition" book put out by Games Workshop in the UK.
