What Game Has The Best Fiction

So, for it to be a game, it has to have rules, and for it to be a sport, you have to sweat?
I will take your question literally. No, you don't have to sweat. You might not sweat while throwing darts or bowling, but there must be some a component of physical skill and exertion.

If darts is a sport, is beer pong?
Sure. I will admit that I am fairly generous in my definition of sport. Darts involves both physical effort and skill during the course of playing the game which are not elements of chess. I'm also comfortable with beer pong as a sport as it also involves physical effort and skill. Is in the same physical effort we see in soccer? No. Of course not.

literally huh?
Break Dancing is supposed to be a "sport" in the next Olympics. So along with "Faster, Higher, Stronger" they have not only added "Frillier, Prettier", but also "Fly-er."
breaking (breakdancing, skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing, and 3x3 basketball.

To answer the original question:

Shadowrun has some very good books. but some rather bad as well.

The ones I really liked:
  • Secrets of Power Trilogy
  • Never Trust an Elf
  • Black Madonna
  • Burning Bright
  • 2XS
  • Striper, Assassin
  • Worlds without End
  • House of the Sun
  • The Dragonheart trilogy

Hmm, seems most of the ones I like has ties to Earthdawn...

Not everything in life fits into a single neat, clean category. There's some ambiguity and you just have to accept that or it will drive you mad. I implore you not to bring burritos into the discussion. I will absolutely die on the body building is not a sport hill though.

Body building is all about the mentality, my friend.

Other competitors will come to you for help and tips.

And then, you realize ... it's not hard to give them ....

B/X Known World
The Expanse. The original novels were based on the authors' home game. No idea what system they used. It has come full circle with the RPG based on the books.

Record of Lodoss War. The franchise was based on the creators' home D&D game.

Over the Edge. Has one wild and crazy book, Pierced Heart by Robin Laws.

Games Workshop. They have lots of lines and lots of tie-in fiction. Blood Bowl, Warhammer, 40k, etc.

Changeling: The Dreaming. There are four books out for that game. Still haven't finished them, but they're good so far.

Paranoia. There are a few books for the game. No idea on the quality, but they are on my track down and read list.
