Through my years of SCA and Live Steel fighting I have had the chance to wear just about every type of armor. For the live steel I wear a full suit of plate. That's the whole nine yards, full steel arms, legs, breast plate, gorget, helm, gauntlets, sabatons (spelled that wrong)and probably some little pieces I've forgotten to mention.
Anyway, it is very difficult to put this kind of armor on by yourself, you just cant reach all the straps and buckles, especially when your half suited up. From start to finish, with help, it takes me about 7-10 minutes get suited up, this includes minor adjustments to make sure everything is sitting right and so on.
