At this point, that would be "anyone who buys it off the shelf".AI isn't the problem it is who controls it. I watched a charlie rose interview with gates a long time ago and he said as much, it is about who controls it.

It's the publisher in this case. The AI itself is irrelevant, the writer should belong to a union so she can go to them and say hey look, they are not paying me.At this point, that would be "anyone who buys it off the shelf".
The specific case isn't the point, even if the writer has an out in this instance many others will not. And when AI is easily available for purchase, saying "it's who controls it that's important" is utterly behind the times. We all control it - it's available for anyone to use, at affordable prices. It's the publisher in this case. The current ruling on AI-generated works is that they are non-copyrightable.They aren't looking to create masterpieces. They are looking to produce work that will sell at a high profit margin. So, that criticism will have them crying all the way to the bank.
This looks like a clear breach of contract. It’s wild that anyone who cares at all about artists and writers of any kind would support this tech.

As a publisher I don't use AI, and as I have seen, it lessens ones sales in the RPG market. The specific case is an example of what is to come, and organizing, strength in numbers is as old as when we were just hominids in Africa. The specific case isn't the point, even if the writer has an out in this instance many others will not. AI means the Healthcare system might become more affordable, divorces might not end in poverty from legal fees and so on.
This is awesome news, because the working class benefits, I love these new AIs for once the rest of us stand to massive benefit.
Better, more accessible, more affordable Healthcare, legal aid, accounting, etc..., awesome.
