agreed, when looking for easy vs hard, the lists I found assumed you know English already, and base it on that. Your order is not far off the oned I have seen


Heh its not to hard to tweak the list. Eg if your first language is Chinese Korean and Japanese are related. English may be hard for them.

If your Spanish the other Ronance languages will be comparatively easy.

Maori might even ve easier than German tbh. Not sure its because we learn the basics at school or because you can pretty much substitute word for word and be fine.

Not sure I know enough about them to say what would be easy for someone from China / Korea / Japan to learn. They may be related, but having different alphabets (there is overlap, but the same kanjis can mean different things in the Chinese and Japanese) is not really helping. It might be easier to learn two dozen new symbols than the 20% or so difference between the two
