Spoilers The boys Season 4 (spoilers)

Cancer based Butcher Deadpool clone?
Eh, I think of Kimiko as this universe's Deadpool. I don't think the cancer would be able to turn into a person if it were to leave his body. At best a disgusting mass of teratoma. I was thinking Venom because it's a black parasite that protected Butcher from death. But it's a superhero show, so anything could happen.

I’m enjoying this season well enough but it’s lost some of its focus to me. I feel like both sides are just all over the place. The boyz are just dealing with their own crap, the supes are just off doing whatever. Sister sage is the best new part for me, but I feel like we had a lot of episodes but not a lot of true plot has happened yet.

Also ironically as much as they keep showing off how terrifying homelander is, they make him less of a plot concern every season. In season 1, the boyz used to huddle in old buildings so homelander couldn’t fly over, find them, and kill them. Now he interrupts one of their operations…and they proceed even though the second one kd them talks out loud he will hear it and kill them all right there? (And he does find butcher near immediately, doesn’t kill him because it’s funny to see butcher die of cancer which makes sense…but he didn’t immediately find and kill the rest of the team…for reasons)

Sister Sage is manipulating The Boys at every turn and playing 3 dimensional chess with both sides, as we can see from how she simultaneously discredited Annie and punished the racist Firecracker (heavy on the "cracker").

Homelander is falling apart, both in basic sanity and in his self assurance, so has to exercise control over his opposition. He shows the ones who offer real opposition to him that they are beneath him dealing with, because he does actually fear them. Not having to kill them makes him feel stronger. The weak ones, who made him feel weak in the past, he punishes. Bully behaviour.

It all makes sense to me, but that's just my take on it. YMMV.

Remember when negatively reviewing something was just something that you did with badly made things, and wasn't considered some coordinated negative "attack"?
Sure, but that's not how it works all the time, right? I mean, check out the link I posted in the Acolyte thread......it's clear that show is being bombed .... very clear.

I do feel like a little bit of focus has been lost.
But it's also very difficult to follow up season 3; Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy was phenomenal.

I'm still enjoying the show. It's been interesting to learn more about what makes the show's version of Homelander tick. While he's clearly descending into madness and worsening acts of depravity, I can also understand how some viewers may feel sympathy for him.

I think that the anger he feels toward his son is because, in his own way, he's trying to be the parent and father figure he never had. So, to him, when his son rebuffs him, I think Homelander's inner child is angry about seeing someone push away the efforts toward love and affection (no matter how misguided) that he wishes he had, rather than being locked in a corporate facility the way that he was.

I'm not a fan of Firecracker. I get what she's supposed to represent, but it's a bit on the nose, lacks nuance, and the performance of the part doesn't live up to past characters such as Stormfront.

Frenchie's story also feels weak. He's always been fluid in many areas of his life, so it's not in any way surprising that he's likely "pansexual." However, there hasn't been much of any actual story or character development. It comes across as a tacked-on love story that doesn't add anything to the show.

So fun fact about the actress who plays Firecracker
