Got Yuan-Ti?

Ktulu

First Post
Within the next few weeks, my players will embark on the paragon portion of my campaign; dealing specifically with the Yuan-Ti.

There are 3 Yuan-Ti in the book (suffice to say, not enough :)) and I was wondering if anyone's created their own, yet?

I did reskin a Succubus to become a "Snake-Charmer" which worked quite well but, being strapped for time, I haven't been too involved with making more at this time.

I would appreciate any suggestions or assistance.

3? There are quite a lot!

Yaun-ti Malison Sharp-Eye
Yaun-Ti Malison Incanter
Yaun-ti Malison Disciple of Zehir
Yaun-ti Abomination
Yaun-ti Anathema
Snaketongued Initiate/Zealot (both minions)
Snaketongued Warrior
Snaketongued Assassin
Snaketongued Celebrant.

Sorry, my mistake on the numbers, though I should be more specific.

There are 4 Yuan-Ti (forgot about the incanter), with the Anathema being the big-bad at the end of the story-arch.

I've been using the snaketongue's de-leveled since about 7th level, so they're beginning to get a little old.

I'm looking for any other ideas for Yuan-ti creatures (will probably also heavily use the Naga's as I can add them).

Anyhow, how to make it go a little bit further:

1) Medusas. 3 kinds exist in the book:

Medusa Archer (10th level Elite Controller)
Medusa Warrior (13th level Elite Soldier)
Medusa Shroud of Zehir (Lvl 18 Skirmisher).

They fit in with Yaun-ti, naturally. Leaders, handmaidens/messangers of Zehir, etc.

Also, remember that the Yaun-ti Malison Incanter can do nasty things to people taking ongoing poison damage, such as various effects from the Medusas, or even Poison-Eye Basilisks.

2) Mummies. I know you're thinking "Mummies? Why?" They just seem like an intriguing tie-in for yaun-ti. At least, IMHO.

The two types of mummies useful for you are:
Mummy Lord (13th level Elite Controller)
Mummy Guardian (Lvl 8 Brute).

3) Naga. They're snakey, they're evil, they make good leaders, or advisers perhaps.

Guardian Naga (12 Elite Artillery)
Bone Naga (16 Elite Controller)
Dark Naga (21 Elite Controller)

I hadn't thought of using Mummies. Did use a slightly lowered Medusa in a recent session.

Mummies would be pretty cool, though. Thematic change on what they look like (mummified snake-man is pretty creepy).

I also reskinned the shadar-kai chainfighter as a "sidewinder", switching necrotic to poison damage. They were very effective at messing up the party.

Thanks for the ideas.

4) Doppelganger Assassin. Re-flavor it as an assassin who has learned how to 'shed their skin', taking on a new guise. In addition, the Cloud Mind makes a great snake-like charm trick.

5) Any Paragon-tier swarm, reskinned as a swarm of snakes.

6) Displacer beast. Reskin as a monk with a viper wound around him, or a cloak full of snakes.

7) Angels. No, seriously. Zehir is a god, and so he surely has some angels with him. Angels are also mercenary-like, at least if their cause is just. An angel of protection guarding someone pertinent to the Yaun-ti's plans, an Angel of Battle sent to obliterate a fortification, or an Angel of Vengeance summoned and sent against the PCs for killing someone very important.

8) Feymire Choker, reskinned as a constrictor.

9) Any sort of Warlock-feeling enemy, really. The Darkness-pact Warlock seems to jive with Zehir.

Nice ideas, thanks!

I think I'll try out some of these in the coming weeks. I'll probably use the doppleganger one sooner, as it will work perfectly with something I was brainstormin'.
