D&D 5E Drow Magic & Proficiency Bonus

From the Player's Handbook, I'm having difficulty determining whether a drow applies her proficiency bonus to any spell save difficulty checks.:confused:

Checking the Monster Manual doesn't seem to help, either (since the drow in the MM don't follow the same rules as PCs), but the answer seems to be no.

Please, help.

Thank you.

You mean for Faerie Fire, etc.? Every spellcasting class gets to add proficiency to their spell save DC. Racial spells wouldn't be worth much without it. I mean, a drow with lousy CHA could have a save DC well below 10 without it, and the spell's approaching pointless.

The PHB states in the Spellcasting chapter:
"The DC to resist one of your spells equals 8 + your spellcasting ability modifier + your proficiency bonus + any special modifiers."

This rule doesn't discriminate between spells gained from class, race, or other sources. So yes, the drow get to add their proficiency bonus.

In the PHB on p. 205 under saving throws it states "The DC to resist one of your spells equals 8 + your spellcasting ability modifier + your proficiency bonus + any special modifiers." It makes no distinction between spells your character gets from a class or those it gets from its race. Your character is "proficient" with every spell it knows.

[Edit] Sage Genesis beat me to it.
