You haven't seen Garra yet. You do know from interrogating Daask members you've defeated that her plan is to leave on this train and head back to Droaam with the loot they got from the dig site.
You know Garra is on the rail. You have the receipt for her ticket. You also have a writ of authority from the Sharn Watch -- and the patronage of a House Orien scion. There are ten cars on the rail. Then I think we've already lost because the train is in motion. It won't stop and we won't have the leverage in Droaam to have the entire rail searched for this guy. Likewise, we won't have any authority if we even find Garra on this train once it leaves the station. Yeah, we have "5 rounds" but even if we catch Garra on round 5, round 6 the train leaves the station and the train conductors (and more importantly the enforcers on the train from whatever faction runs the train that we don't work for) will probably side with the rich guy with bags of money and not 5 first level schlubs who say they work for some random detective agency.
There are two ways it could go. They rolled Athletics checks, so they could reach the bandits, use their action to Shove five feet to the side and open a path (opposed check). Or, if they want to ignore the shove, they can just move and possibly Dash, but they will take opportunity attacks because you can't get passed them cleanly. If you need that resolved now, I can run it, but I don't know if they want to continue with the shoving or just run past and risk it.@KahlessNestor Sorry, but I need to ask: Do Poe and Ogham make it past the bandits at the end of the stairs? I'm actually thinking of having Alara use her Thunderwave spell followed by an Intimidation roll, but I don't want to do it if it ends up sending her friends flying too.
And yes, I am aware that casting that particular spell in a crowded rail station lacks gentility...
