Greyhawk from CY 582 to CY 597 (?)-- anything fun happen after From the Ashes?

Hey grognards. The timelines I can find on Google seem to indicate that some kind of canonical events were happening in Greyhawk after the big war ended (which I think was CY 582). Did anything interesting, inspiring, noteworthy, or hilariously fun happen to the setting in the intervening...

Here Come The PRESTIGE CLASSES! Plus Rune Magic!

In previous editions, the most broken stuff lived right in the Core rulebook. Back in 3.x, sufficiently well-played Clerics, Wizards, and Druids could break any game without PrCs or multi-classing. 5e seems to have addressed that imbalance. Hopefully, they'll continue to keep game balance...

Here Come The PRESTIGE CLASSES! Plus Rune Magic!

I like the idea of Prestige Classes, but I don't like this one. IMHO it seems like this Rune Magic thing could be a Spellcaster-oriented feat and four rare items (the Master Runes) which you'd have to Attune as normal. (Generally, in 5e it seems like all the stuff which Prestige Classes used...

    D&D 5E Tremorsense

IMHO anyone moving would get pinpointed. That includes rolling over in your sleep, but not merely breathing. Monsters in hammocks would be immune to detection, because hammocks are awesome.

    [5e] Binder Class

Awesome, I look forward to your feedback! Yeah, some of the Vestiges are more niche than others. Some are better in combo, or in specific situations... that's partly deliberate, but it's partly that all campaigns are different, and I can't know what's going to be valuable in yours. Like, for...

Does Medium Armor Need a Buff?

I came here to say this. IMHO the issue isn't Medium Armor itself, it's the lackluster Medium Armor Master feat which is not competitive with the other specific armor feats.

    D&D 5E How many fans want a 5E Warlord?

I'd love to see stuff like 3.5e's White Raven and 4e's Lazy Warlord.

    [5e] Chameleon Class

5e Chameleon "Someone called for a cleric? Oh, you needed a fighter instead? I'm sorry -- I meant to say that the cleric is on his way. I'm the fighter." -- Jonata Quimbel Sometimes it's good to be a fighter, able to wield any weapon. Other times, you'd be better off as a rogue, with stealth...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5e] Sorcerer / Binder / Anima Mage - Optimal Spell List?

There are a lot of spells out there. There are a lot of vestiges, which can replicate or otherwise obviate certain spells. Has anyone made a list of which spells go well with which vestiges? Or which spells are unusually good for an Anima Mage? Thanks!

    Orc or Hobgoblin?

The difference should be obvious. Hobgoblins are orange. Orcs are green.

    D&D 5E What is/should be the Ranger's "thing"?

So basically, we ought to rename that spell as landrover.

D&D 5E Why do wizards STILL have to use daggers, etc.?

"The blade functions as a normal weapon, except as follows." OH LORD, SAVE ME FROM THE JARGON! (In case it's not clear, this means: there is no requirement for jargon. Just clearer writing.) The spell's intention is not actually written anywhere. You are assuming one intention, and I'm trying...

D&D 5E Why do wizards STILL have to use daggers, etc.?

(Moon) Druids are fine in melee because of Wild Shape, which is not a Concentration effect. I think your point is that bad writing is not limited to omission, and that an over-abundance of detail can also be bad. That's also true -- but not relevant to this situation. The existence of other...

D&D 5E Why do wizards STILL have to use daggers, etc.?

Flame Blade is a Concentration spell which requires the caster to remain in melee range. You cannot expect to use Flame Blade for any particular duration. It's not a strong spell. Everything falls within the purview of the DM to shape. Everything. That's not a special bonus which sloppy...

D&D 5E Why do wizards STILL have to use daggers, etc.?

It's difficult to say, because the spell Flame Blade is quite underwhelming without OA or bonus action attacks. Nah, be honest: it's a cop-out. The rules say: Hey DM, we could have thought about this, but instead, we're going to make you spend some time thinking about it -- and we'll make...

D&D 5E Why do wizards STILL have to use daggers, etc.?

Hmm. That possibly says two things, though. - You may only use this special action to make any kind of melee attack; ~or~ - You may use this special action to make a spell melee attack. So IMHO a valid interpretation might be that you could make non-spell melee attacks normally with the blade...

D&D 5E Why do wizards STILL have to use daggers, etc.?

That makes some sense. Hmm, but now I wonder if that means you can't make Opportunity Attacks or TWF attacks with a Flame Blade?

D&D 5E Why do wizards STILL have to use daggers, etc.?

Flame Blade creates a weapon which deals damage that scales with level, but I haven't seen anyone saying that it's too strong for a multi-class (e.g. Druid / Fighter or whatever).
