WIth a big shout out to @AmandaBarbarian I have one to add.
Please don't edition war here... although I fear that is what this will end up getting this locked
So @AmandaBarbarian started this whole world building threads idea, and I wanted to ask about one. Do you, and if you do how do you...
I don't see fighters as useless, and in the other thread I said that.
However to answer this I went through both roll20 and foundry for the last 5 years of play, I then looked at masterplan (my old 4e game holder for games I run I still used in 5e for plotting) and my answer is in 5 years of...
I have been afraid to step my toe in here since page 5 or so, but I think it odd you don't hear that at least often enough that you wouldn't find it odd.
I don't think fighter rogue and barbarian are useless myself, but I can see where people feel that way. Especially if for them the fun is...
What would a Kratos class look like? I assume it would look very little like modern fighter, but to be honest, I don't think a 30th level 4e fighter would fit either, but maybe with the right paragon and epic add ons.
We are still playing, but as is I see no reason not to let warlocks pick up the other pact cantrips. In fact me and 1 other player said as much in our feedback.
Maybe it worked out cause we only had 1 warlock, if we had multi that might have felt 'samey' and the one we had was RP her heart out...
so we playtested this. Our warlock had the familiar and the weapon pacts to start. She even went so far as to say she had sold shadow to a fey and gave half of her true name to a demon for the power (familiar was a small shadow fey, weapon was a demonic axe) and it wasn't really broken at all...
My group didn't read it as you could take them, until this thread and I brought up that if we use the 2014 book then warlock cantrips are cantrips warlocks can take, so I am going to playtest a john Constintine like character that has sold his soul to 3 demons.
If/When he dies all three will...
I wonder if it's as tiresome as beings told our games that are both fun and challenging AND have short rests shouldn't exist and shouldn't be supported is?
Or as tiresome as the constant "I know better then you that you don't count" that is thrown around here and else where about D&D
I don't understand what you mean? do rogues have an ability I don;t know? I think the arcane trickster can use mage hand as a bonus but I'm not sure about that. Any sorcerer can quicken with enough points?
What does this have to do with action surge change?
oh so this has nothing to do with...
the only editions of the game that wasn't true for were when everyone had powers or the casters had HUGE restrictions, and WotC has no interest in putting restrictions on spells or giving non casters cool powers
