D&D General Which non-D&D races would like to see in Dungeons and Dragons?

what is known of them?

also did a guy just get destroyed or something he appears to be gone.
This is what I got from the Storm Hawks wiki:

Here is a link on the Wallops too:

My first reflex would be a dismissive "space Elf" too
People certainly love being dismissive of other's suggestions in this thread. 😒

but I suppose a case could be made for Minbari being more an enlightened space Orc :p - maybe something like the Irda of Dragonlance, a strong but arrogant and potentially brutal species with high intelligence and an enlightened culture
I believe that the old Babylon 5 RPG back in the d20 days even gave Minbari a +2 Strength and a -2 Charisma.

Because everyone loves sentient squid who like playing poker (because, nobody can really read their expression and multiple arms make cheating easy.

From Warhammer 40k, Necrons.

Imagine entering a lost pyramid and finding it full of ancient suits of armour, before working through the traps and secret passages to finally reach the central room. Only to find that you've just activated all those suits of armour as killing machines. And there's more pyramids on the horizon.

Alan Dean Foster's Humanx Commonwealth series, the Thranx.

So many "insect" races are some sort of hive or swarm - not the Thranx.

Regarding the last pic, it's part of the front cover for the novel Nor Crystal Tears. The name of this particular Thranx is Ryuzenzuzex, Ryu of the family Zen, the clan Zu, and the hive Zex. The word hive is something of a throwback term for them. It's more like "I am from this place" than an actual insect hive.

I love the concept of tsukumogami from the manga Tsugumomo about ordinary objects what can become sentient and "create" a "spirit body".

Also I like the idea of dokkaebi from Korean Folkore as ordinary items tainted (maybe accidentally) by human (or other sentient creature) blood. They are a PC specie in "Undying Corruption" by Nine Heaven Press.

Hmmm I wonder if that might be a kind of Mimic? An object neglected for too long becomes sentient and starts to haunt/eat people....

I started this thread after @Scott Christian (post #37) brought up this idea in the link below. :)

D&D General - What Races/Species do you think are missing from Dungeons and Dragons?

Star Wars
Lasat (Star Wars: Rebels)
Karkarodon (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
Wookie

Mass Effect
Turian

So many candidates to choose from... 😋
Marvel's Skrulls, DS9's Dominion races (Changeling, Jem'hadar, Vorta), Voltron's Altayans and Gallra (several others as well), Star Wars Hutts, Geonosians, and Lasat, WoT Ogier are a good call too.

Of course, all of these can be made pretty easily as heritages and cultures in Level Up. I've made a bunch of them (or their equivalents) myself.
