Some do...but a whole lot more do not.
Not without D&D existing.

And again a lot of superheroes were based on legends and myths.

For example there is super strength, shape shifting, talking to animals, fire powers, lighting powers, magic armor, and magic weapons existed before comic book super heroes.

Comic heroes just kept them popular.

So...your argument is that modern superheroes without D&D would have less absurd powers? That's certainly a take, but not one you could possibly defend.

And again, a lot of superheroes were not. Far more were not than were. For every Thor you have the Legion of Super-Heroes.

That's a big stretch. Super-strength existed in myths, therefore every superhero with super-strength is based on myth. No, not in the slightest. Thor is based on myth. Not every character who's super-strong is based on myth.

Would the medieval fantasy game really lean into modern superheroes rather than medieval fantasy?
Modern D&D is a game of medieval fantasy superheroes growing into their powers. That's not an aspersion, that's what we the paying audience prefer.

My point is that Super Strong brutes of Myth inspired Super Strong Comic Heroes.

And my players would play Super Strong characters because of Super Strong Comic Heroes due to the lack of D&D archetypes crowding them out. Super Strong Comic Heroes will be the main display of Strong weapons combatants.

I don't know of any numbers, of course, but it's my observed belief that a strong majority of the player base prefers D&D where the characters start competent and grow into superhero/demigod territory through standard leveling progression.
This has been a rough day on ENWorld for me...

Hercules is a thing, as are Gilgamesh and Beowulf. You don't need superheroes, anime or D&D to legitimize a Strong Hero class.

Or it's that "super-strong" is such a common dream, trope, etc to humans throughout time that it appears in both myth and modern comics.
That's the point.

Without D&D, the main source of the classic dreams in fantasy will be Comics/Manga (and their animated conversions).
