What Magic Item do you want to see most in the DMG?

Could be as simple as higher healing potions, or Deck of Many Things (as we've seen previewed).

Post what you are looking forward to, or even what you DO NOT want to see.

Personally, I cant wait to see if there is a Sphere of Annihilation.

Wants:

- classic low-level magic items such as Rings of Protection, Cloak/Boots of Elvenkind etc, but I wouldn't mind if these were revisited or expanded further

- lots of powerful (mid/high-level) and inspiring new items, especially magic rod/staves for the wizards, wondrous items, intelligent items and a good number of artifacts

In more general terms, it would be very nice to also have magic items that grow with the characters, rather than being always fixed, but I am not expecting this to be in the DMG.

I really didn't want to see every magic weapon carrying a +1, but sadly this is already botched.

1) Wonderus items that perform normal everyday actions

Ex. Figurine of wonderus power: maid
Wand of cleaning the air
Animated shovel
2) instant fortress
3 vorpral swords AND sword of sharpness

I want to see interesting cursed items that people will want to use.
I would like to see interesting intelligent items, that are not just a rehash of older editions.
Items that are class and race enhancing, like rage weapons, monk hand wraps, belts of dwarvenkind, stuff like that.
I would like to see the returning ability to be default of all thrown weapons, and ammo creation the default of all magic ranged weapons with that property.

_____________

I don't want to see anything that gives a static ability score modifier (unless things change from what is in the Basic version I highly doubt this will happen), but most of all I don't want to see any magic items that give an ability score higher than 20, like belts of giant strength did in the playtest.

I don't want to see weapons of sharpness or vorpal, chopping off limbs is not cool and defeating a big bad guy with one lucky roll is anti-climatic.

Another thing I don't want to see is magic armor of the following types; padded, leather, hide, chain shirt, scale mail, or splint.
Why because if you have the time, energy, gold, and power to enchant a suit of armor why on earth would anyone enchant one of those when they could spend some gold and get a better type of base armor.

DM: "You find a suit of magic leather armor +1"
Player: "So basicly studded leather?, great I have had that since first level, these magic items feel ever so 'magical'!"

I'd like to see magic items that have interesting properties rather than +1 attack or AC. I hope they have a Wand of Wonder that's just as random as the Wild Sorcerer.

I want to see them all. But I guess, if I had to pick a few specific ones...

Be interested in how they work ye ole Staves of Power/Wizardry/Magi in.

Hammer of Thunderbolts vs. Dwarven Thrower vs. Axe of the Dwarf Lords.

I am interested to see if elves get a little magic item love beyond the cloak n' boots [and the elvin chain armor, of course]. Dwarves have always had their hammers...I never understood why there was never an Elvin Bow or Spear of the Elfin Lords or something along those lines.

How magic items, in general, might use the attune mechanic to "grow"/open new powers over time.

That's about it...just LEMME SEE IT ALREADY!!!

wow could not disagree with you more, but I guess that is just opionon diffrences...

um... how is "I roll a 20 and kill the Orc" any worse then "I use spell X and Orc dies"? I really really want those two items back... but I guess again it is just opionon diffrences to style here..

AHHHH!!! no... just no. That would kill 5e for me or any other game.

Why because if you have the time, energy, gold, and power to enchant a suit of armor why on earth would anyone enchant one of those when they could spend some gold and get a better type of base armor.
because in game each and every suit is different. some people wear leather armor for 20 levels... and ALOT choose not to up grade past X type.

what should he find in it's place?

I like how the Gauntlets of Ogre Power set your Str at 19 rather than giving a bonus. That's a great way to avoid item cheese. So more stuff like that, I guess.

I like items that let you skirt various limitations. I'd like to see a rare item that lets you concentrate on two spells at once, for example.
