Dragonlance What Happened To The New DRAGONLANCE Trilogy?

It's not accurate to say that there's a bit of Mormon flavor in Dragonlance. Mormon theology is the backbone of the original novels.
I know way more about Mormon theology than 99% of humans on the Earth. I think that's a fair claim to make.

I probably know more about it than 90% of Americans, maybe even higher given there are only 6.5m Mormons.

I didn't know most of that stuff.

So I agree that that's all true, but to even know it, you have to know more about Mormon theology, than someone who isn't a Mormon, but knows way more than most people about Mormon theology.

The only way it could become a problem is if Mormons chose to make it a problem, frankly, because there's no proselytizing.
Narnia is Anglican, not Catholic. Tolkien was very disappointed that CS Lewis chose Anglicanism over Catholicism when he returned to Christianity...
Yeah I was kind of gas-lighting myself about that until I saw this post "Wait was Lewis a Catholic? Didn't he hate Catholicism?"

Have you seen the internet lately? Someone will find a way.
Yeah I have.

This is entirely my point.

I understand the precise discourse you're discussing.

That isn't how it works. Stuff doesn't get dunked on merely because it contained religious themes, otherwise nuBSG would be bullied senseless about that every time it was discussed, not, like mocked for having a terrible ending.

It's much more likely stuff Hickman and Weis have said (like Weis describing a painting of Goldmoon as making Goldmoon look like "a whore", or Hickman's "New vs Traditional" Twitter idiocy), or the vast amount of like racially insensitive (and that's putting in gently) or other issues that would cause problems for Dragonlance.

I'm looking at it the other way. In additional to all the valid stuff you cite, some people will have objections not because the books denigrate Mormonism but because they celebrate it.

I just don't think that'll fly because loads of fantasy stuff features Christian, Islamic, Jewish or other religious stuff, like loads and loads (I'll avoid going into lengthy examples to avoid discussion of religion), and loads of people have had bad experiences with those religions, but none of that stuff has got any of those books "cancelled" or anything.

The authors showed their own point of view, but Dragonlance can't be labeled as "agresive proselitism", not worse than "7th Sea", for example. If I feel unconfortable with some D&D characters is with Yagno Petrovna, dark lord of G'Henna. If this appears in my game, the clergy is allowed polygame and concubinate and the creed about fasting would be retconned and softed to avoid troubles about anorexia.

And I would change the name of the Kagonesti elves because it sounds like a verb used in the Spanish languange for a dirty action you do sit in the toilet.

When I listen about the disks of Mishakal I imagine a magitek Compact-Disks with interactive holograms.

Can Goldmoon to be blond-haired? Yes, I remember a real case of two Blackafrican parents with a blue-eyed and blonde-haired baby girl, a softer version of albine mutation, I guess.

Even the complete geography of the continent of Absalon could be retconned using a computer simulation to study the movement of the tectonic plates and the local weather in the different regions.

Or there are gem dragons in the Krynn sphere but they are too busy fighting against the invasion by the Vodoni empire (a faction from Spelljammer). Or the heroe of the lance are happily living as demigos in the domain of delight(Witchlight) but Raitsling and Kitiara, suffering their own curses in their own version of Sithicus (for example unwelcome visits by planar dragons from the infernal planes).

That's even worse Luis, you cant have a Native-proxy people and have the chosen one of the ''one true god'' be, coincidentally, be the only white woman of the tribe, no matter how you wish to explain it biologically.

Its pretty simple, really. In this day and age, when we are still unearthing the remains of hundreds of Native children dead in the ''care'' of reform schools created to make them closer to the one-true-way of the white man, you cannot have a fantasy people as close to the First Nations as the Qé-chu are and make them white and quit their ''erroneous'' beliefs system for a One True God.

That's a big no-no.

But its pretty easy to avoid also. It does not require a lot of work.
