D&D 5E What does the titan subtype mean?

It seems to apply to creatures created by the gods... but in the default 5E cosmology, weren't most of the mortal races created by the gods (orcs by Gruumsh etc.)? Does it mean those creatures are ageless and don't reproduce, so the krakens or empyreals you meet are the very first ones ever?

I think it means PC's should go "Oh *&^%$#@!" and reconsider their murderhobo ways when they see one. More seriously, I think it means they are linked to some ancient conflict that the gods were involved with (like 4e's Dawn War). Ageless makes sense, but being able to reproduce is often an advantage for biological weapons (basically what krakens are), as it is cheaper than building them from scratch....

As far as I know, there isn't spell, power, or magical item that specifically effects titans, but that could change in future adventure paths/splat books.

From the DMG

"Titans are the divine creations of deities. They might be birthed from the union of two deities, manufactured on a divine forge, born from the blood spilled by a god, or otherwise brought about through divine will or substance."

The big thing is that Titans themselves are divine as well.
