D&D General What Do You Hope to See with 7e?

Well let's see. 5e came out in 2014 and will last until 2024 so 10 years. Then 5.5e will come out. So if it lasts the same amount of time, it will be 2034 when 6e comes out. Then 6e gets 10 years to 2044, and 6.5e to 2054, so we're talking 2054. I will be 85 by then. So if I am still alive, I have no idea what I'd want at that point.

I don’t foresee D&D making another major change like 2e to 3e, 3e to 4e, or 4e to 5e.
I disagree. For me 5E's shelf life is starting to expire and considering we probably won't see 6E for quite some time, if they don't make significant changes by then I doubt I'd buy into it, as most people probably won't. I have a feeling the changes in 1D&D will be more significant than people think.

Serious answer: a basic and advanced set of rules/features with basic looking like current 5e and advanced melding the best of 4e and 5e as others have suggested.

Less serious answer: let 1D&D be the evergreen medieval/renaissance fantasy game and make 7e a full on D&Dified version of Magic the Gathering. Choose a species, wizard or sidekick warrior, home plane (world? dimension?), and a color or two. Synergy!
