Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Hot Off The Press

It'll be available in some stores from September 7th (hey, that's next week!) and most others on the 18th, but Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, the latest adventure for Dungeons & Dragons, has arrived at WotC's offices where Satine Phoenix, Jeremy Crawford, Greg Tito, and Chris Lindsay all posed with the book.

It doesn't matter whether he was being nostalgic. He was reducing Phoenix to a porn star in context of her current job. Its inappropriate and demeaning and I dont mind calling it out.

Actually it occurred to me that suggesting being a porn star is reducing someone is the only insulting thing to be found in this thread, being a sex worker is a higher calling and of great value to society filled with pain, lonely, and frustration, so I don't see it as reducing someone at all, but rather a badge of honour.

This is a dumb comment, you're trying to say sex work is no different from any other work yet at the same time immediately assume that because someone talked about her being a former sex worker it must have been in a negative fashion. The person seemed to just have a case of nostalgia, give them a break.

So sex work is just like any other job, except we have to give it special exceptions unlike any other job, yeah that's logical. Sorry but if someone's a former scientist and I see them in a D&D post like this and my comment is "Science and D&D, it's like I'm back in high school" that isn't a problem, so why is it here if supposedly using your own words, it's no different? You seem to be searching for something to be outraged about so badly that you're being hypocritical.

Come on, man. People aren't defined by their jobs, former or present. Bringing up her adult film career every time she appears is not a good look. She has proven herself a skilled GM and gaming personality, writer and designer.

Sex work is work. Have a little respect.

Bottom left corner of the post.

Thanks!

I'm excited to see what they do.

I love the idea of giving the players a business at low levels and allowing them to manage a store or tavern between adventures. That's fun. And the sort of thing you haven't been able to do in a while (as in 3e/4e, owing a business is worth a lot of money, and you can just sell the land for a +2 sword).

I'm also curious to see how much is adventure, and how much is Waterdeep sourcebook.

Same. Of all the adventuring locales I’ve gamed in over the years, there’s something about Waterdeep that feels like home. I can practically smell the place in my head.

FYI, it’s the salt tang of seawater, hay and horse, and damp stone.

I am also tempted to get this for a sourcebook on Waterdeep, easily my favorite city in FR and one I knew the best.

Satine Phoenix... I am guessing that is not her real name, or she had it changed?
EDIT: OMG I just googled her. I dunno about WotC, but in most companies it would be a big no-no for hiring someone if googling their name brings up a TON of porn videos... Especially in a time when I have known people who were not hired after their job interviews simply because they had some very visible tatoos.

And for once they are releasing the miniatures at the same time as the adventure. I wonder, when is Dungeon of the Mad Mage out next?
