Took about 5 hours between the article and spotting the Vengeance/PAM/TF combo.

I'd say it's by the book, but maybe I missed the 'Official' version of Tunnel Fighting.

My explanation is still that the 2 fighting styles were optional for 'No Feats' games because the feats already cover what I think the game needs for the Deadly-with-a-gun, Defender and Phalanx tropes.

As other people have pointed out here, Vengeance ability happens as part of a reaction. If you want zero room for wiggle in RAW the Tempest domain cleric's lvl 6 works with elemental weapon, polearm master, and the Command (approach) spell.
 


Well, relentless avenger states that your supernatural focus helps you close the distance. So I would rule that you can move only TOWARDS! the target of your AoO. Unless you're specifying that you are trying to outflank him from the other side of the planet:mad:

but I agree, tunnel fighter, PAM and Sentinel is staple of phalanx spear tactics. THIS IS SPARTA!!

Also if you're and eldrich knight you can get warcaster instead of sentinel. Go-go booming blade! :devil:

another thing that is great with tunnel fighter is ranger hord breaker. If they move, they get an attack, if they stay together, they get an attack.
 

Tunnel Fighter 1/ Tomelock 4 (or 3 if your human).

Whip (or other reach weapon) + Warcaster + dissonant whispers + thornwhip.

Run, pull, run, pull, run, pull. And warlocks to recharge his slots each a short rest.
 

I'm currently running a Crown Paladin polearm master tunnel fighter build, as one of two melee characters in a five man band. Using Champions Challenge Channel Divinity I can attempt to prevent all creatures chosen with 30ft from moving outside of 30ft. If they come TO me I hit them, and they can't just run away. Adding in warlock for repelling blast gives the ability, on my turn, to push one or more back 10ft so they have to move in again... and they still can't just run more than 30ft out.

Can I cast dissonant whisppers, AoO, misty step in front of the target while he run and attack 3 more times (one Poleam master entry, one reaction from tunnel fighter and one when he leave the space)?

Unfortunately the warcaster part must target that creature only.

That said... you can still do dissonant whipsers + thorn whip OA + tunnel fighter OA.

Though, i kinda want to do dissonant whispers + haste + even more OA's. :devil: but that doesn't work.

In fact I was thinking in use my bonus action with misty step while the target is running, but I forget I can't cast a spell with the action and bonus action in the same turn.
