Template Epic Spell (Applying templates through Epic Spells)

-Eä-

First Post
I have created an Epic Spell that will bestow the Paragon Template on the caster. I chose this template as it encompass almost all the elements you will want in a template, being the most advanced one, and therefore it will be easier to modify this to make a starting point for making spells that apply other templates.

I am certainly not certain about whether this is the correct way to go or not, any feedback would be appreciated. What concerns me most are the abilities individually, whether they have an appropriate DC modifier or not.

The templates I am actually considering using, is one for converting oneself into a Vampire.

Paragon

Transmutation (Transform, Life)
Spellcraft DC: 3774
Components: V, S, M, XP
Casting Time: 30 days
Range: Personal
Effect: Turns you into a Paragon of the species.
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: None

Seeds: Transform (21), Life (27), Fortify (27)

Factors: 1. Add 90 points to ability scores (90*10=900), 2. Always maximum hit points: (ad hoc +60), 3. +12/+12 insight/luck bonus to AC (24*6=144), 4. +5 natural armour bonus (5*4=20) 5. +10 insight bonus to saves (10*6=60), 6. +10 competence bonus to skills (10*4=40), 7.+25 luck bonus to attack rolls (25*5=125), 8. +20 luck bonus to damage rolls (20*5=100), 9. +13 general insight bonus (13*7=91), 10. Fire and cold resistance 10 (40), 11. Damage Reduction 20/+6 (19+5*3=34), 12. Fast Healing +20 (equivalent to 7 (6) Fast Healing Feats (6*8 (for not being able to choose self)=48), 13. Spell Resistance 10+CR (25+25 (ad hoc)=50), 14. +12 hp per level (20*4=80 (ad hoc)), 15. + any two extra feats (20)

Total: 21+27+27+900+60+144+20+60+40+125+100+91+40+34+48+50+80+20=1887

Ad hoc for making instantaneous: x2=3774

Description: Through extensive research in the development of his species, the character has learned how the evolution will be. What may otherwise take millions of years, the character now knows how to obtain through this arcane ritual. Though taxing on the centre of the ritual, this transformation will eventually make him the peak of his race, the ultimate perfection that will eventually come through evolution. In effect, apply the Paragon template to the caster.

Changed: +10 per ability raise. +60 ad hoc for maximum hp/level

I like, But holy wa.... 1034 dc, your going to be working on that a while.

It's kinda funny, but in the epic level champaign I was thinking about making. Some of the NPCs were going to be individuals who activly pursued getting made into vampires to better be able to make it to epic levels. If your effectly immortal, you will certainly be able to have time to do that sort of research.

XP cost normally can't go over 10,000, but we can ignore that for the moment.

The ad hoc 'instantanious' is to be applied -before- mitigating factors, not after.

Also, the paragon template allows for the selection of two additional feats, doesn't it?

This still requires a 250th level caster, even assuming he could get his bonus that high...

Okay... I thought I remebered 20 000 was the limit... However, the XP limit is arbitrary, and personally I think it should increase with level.

Very well... Do think the x2 is appropriate, though?

Ahh... I forgot that... Add 20 to the DC, then...

It isn't something that I'm actually going to use, but if I get this template spell allright, all others should be childplay...

I'll update the spell now...

1.
This is an inherited Bonus to a ability scores.
You can't get more than +5.(Because of Instantaneous)
Not +15.

2. Always maximum hit points: (ad hoc +30)

2.A little bit low the ad hoc or?;)

+ any two extra feats (20)
I would never give my player the ability to get Feats,
NEVER NEVER NEVER.........
(And for sure not only +10 for Spellcraft to one Feats.)
With a Spellcraft of 100 you can get 10 Feats.
That's crap....

3.Same es 2.

The spell gives what the template gives. You don't want to give feats, don't give feats.

How the heck to you determine this takes at least 250th level?

There should be a way to do this... Epic Spells are not meant to have limitations. Perhaps upping the DC per point would be appropriate. And by the way, the max +5 counts for permanent durations, not instatntaneous.

Perhaps... What do you suggest is a good number and why?

Why not!?

"For each normal extraordinary ability or supernatural ability granted to the transformed creature (allowing a human transformed into a basilisk to use the basilisk's petrifying gaze, for example), increase the Spellcraft DC by +10"
ELH, page 101

Remember, I would not allow only the feat granting. I think that would be unbalancing, but as feature of the template (or monster) I have no qualms in doing this.

3.Same es 2.

Suggestions?

Can you take Tenacious Magic with epic spells? If so, use it on this spell and make it permanent instead, saving you on the DC.
