Spells that Deny Dex bonus?

Any spell that stuns, paralyses, puts someone to sleep, blinds them or makes them panicked.

Power Word Stun, Hold Person, Sleep, Blindness and Fear, to name a few examples.

A couple of 1st lvl ones:

Grease (someone in the area who doesn't have 5 ranks in Balance counts as balancing and loses Dex to AC)

Distract Assailant (from Complete Adventurer; 1 swift action to cast; 1 opponent who fails his Will save is flatfooted for 1 rd)

Plus, of course, there are the usual suspects like Invisibility and Blink.

Arsenal (OGL source) has a spell that is the Dex sapping equivalent of 'Ray of Enfeeblement'.

Not exactly a Dex denial, but useful.

There are equivalents for Will and Con as well, if your looking at poison use or enchantment spells

Phantom Threat

I'm thinking about making an arcane spellcaster/rogue and I was wondering if anyone knows of any spells that deny Dex bonus to AC, thus enabling sneak attacks?

Well it doesn't deny Dex bonus to AC, but it does make the target believe that he's flanked if he fails his save and thus, enables sneak attack...The spell is Phantom Threat from the Complete Warrior. It's a Bard 1 / Hexblade 1 spell though, so I don't know if it really fits your needs though.

A person that is attacked by an invisible (via Invisibility or Improved Invisibility) is denied their dex bonus if they don't have Uncanny Dodge or can't see invisible things. Similarly, IIRC blink enables an attacker to deny the target's Dex bonus

I didn't realize that use of grease. I've got to get my rogue a wand of that.
I'm not sure if that's what you really want.
A wand of grease (750 gp) would cast Grease at 1st lvl, with a duration of 1 rd.
Not very useful.
A wand with more levels would be much more costly
(1500 gp for a 2nd lvl wand of grease).

In our group we are wondering if this item is worth it or not.
So far.. we think it is :)
(at lvl 2 at least)
