Spell Resistance vs. Magic Items?

Does spell resistance work against magic items? Does it only work against specific spell effects from magic items, or does it function against general magical effects that aren't necessarily spells?

Spell Resistance (SR) works against spells and spell-like abilities. Note that "Magic items produce spells or spell-like effects." Thus, SR works vs. magic items (except for enhancement bonuses on magic weapons). Note also, however, that "A creature’s spell resistance never interferes with its own spells, items, or abilities."

The thing about magic items is whether you agree that "spell-like effect" is similar enough to "spell-like ability". The text in SR that I quote above that explicitly mentions items is what resolves this issue IMO.

I don't think that spell resistance protects from magical effects other than spells and spell-like abilities.

If a magic item allows the wielder/user to cast a spell (scroll, wands, staves) then SR definitely applies.
If a magic item replicates a spell (e.g. necklace of fireballs) then also SR definitely applies.

But things like the fire damage of a Flaming weapon are definitely not subject to SR IMHO.
