Sorcerers/Wizards...scrolls

Ok, I've never played an arcane caster before, and I'm going to start taking levels of sorcerer. I was just wondering...if a wizard scribed a scroll for me, would I be able to cast it via said scroll?

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: To use a scroll, you need a couple of things. First, the spell must be of the correct type (arcane / divine), so you're ok*. Secondly, the spell must be on your Spell List. You're ok there too since Sorcerors and Wizards have the same spell list. Lastly, you have to be of high enough level to use the scroll (Actually, you have to make some sort of check to see if you can cast the spell, if you're not high level enough). That said, you'll probably have trouble casting a fireball from a scroll if you are, say, a 1st level sorceror (since you can't actually cast fireballs yet).

Hope this helps.

*Example of when this wouldn't work: a cleric scribes a Cure Light Wound Spell, and gives it to the bard. The bard can't use the scroll, even though the spell is on his spell list.
