We just started watching this and are about four episodes in.
I remember the original miniseries well and read the original book afterwards. This is superior to both, IMO.
I like that this John Blackthorne isn't a dashing Richard Chamberlain but, frankly, sometimes a bit of a doofus (a completely ripped doofus, but a doofus) beyond the cultural cluelessness initially.
And I think the best job in Hollywood must be creating the opening credits for prestige dramas.
