Sailors on the Starless Sea

"I say we should check out what's beyond this moveable wall," Boral whispers.

Kurl agrees. "Maybe whatever is beyond has something that the looters didn't yet find."

Tender adds before taking the lead to explore the new location, "And if anyone is using this hidden place as a location to rest, thinking themselves safe from those taking revenge for their misdeeds, we might take them unawares."

Tender adds before taking the lead to explore the new location, "And if anyone is using this hidden place as a location to rest, thinking themselves safe from those taking revenge for their misdeeds, we might take them unawares."

Hank's eyes light up as he removes a sheet of parchment and quickly writes something down. "Tender, that is a great point!"

Beyond the concealed door a narrow hall quickly opens up into a slightly larger room. Dusty cobwebs hang from the low ceiling. A trio of upended chests rest in the shadows in the rear of the chamber amid a scattering of coins. Tracks in the dust record the path of recent looters.

Kurl advises, "Be careful not to disturb the footprints. Do we have any trackers amongst us who might be able to follow where they lead?"

Boral takes a quick look to see if the footprints begin and end at this hidden wall entrance.

Siva takes a look at the mismatched tracks. They mark the main way from the door to the overturned chests, back and forth, as if the beast-men took whatever treasures were stored in the chests down deeper into the complex. The tracks move farther down the stairs than the group has traveled.

Collecting up the coins on the floor yields 7 copper coins, 10 silver coins, and 3 more gold coins.

Tender says, "If I'm not smelling any more gold, I think it would be alright for us to leave this chamber and head on down. Looks like the beast-men cleaned this place out pretty well."

OOC: If Tender is not detecting any gold outside of the party, he'll take the lead and head down the stairs and peer into the next room.

After getting everyone to stand back Tender takes a deep sniff. There's still gold and maybe gems in the room but it is faint so he knows there isn't much there. Walking slowly around the room Tender is able to pinpoint it to a specific chest but when he looks inside the chest is empty.

[sblock=OOC]If Scott thinks there is a secret compartment then Homer can think that, too. To find it (if it exits), describe your search and I'll tell you what happens. DCC is old school that way.[/sblock]

OOC: way kule!

*Ahem* "Excuse me tender, but I might have an idea as to this invisible money problem, If I may" He gestures to the chest in question.

If given the go he will look first at any depth difference between the rim to inside bottom then the outside bottom.

If there is a significant difference he will answer himself with a grunted 'uh huh' then proceed with a knuckle knock to the bottom to test if there is a discernible hollow spot and how big/where it is.

If he has found positive evidence He will smile and give an encouraging nod of his head.

He will then push and slide or just slide in all different directions. If that yields nothing he willlook for indentations inside and out or out of place bumps. If none of that yields success he will look at and push on various rivets or corner brass.
