Rules for Drinking

First Post
My DM asked me to provide him with some rules for the effects of drinking alcohol. We've tried several homebrew rules on the spot to avoid any trouble, but it's a kind of "use & toss" method, and we always change them. I was wondering if anybody knows if there are any "official" rules anywhere or at least tell me if there is a thread discussing this. The thing is that I play a barbarian, who's a heavy drinker, and almost always gets into a barfight, wrecks half the place, and then pays for the damages caused by him :D .

Well, back to the point, it would be appreciated if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Hmmm... Interesting...
It could be based on Fortitude . with a DC of 10 + 1/ per drink (start counting from the second drink), when you fail the DC in the first time
you get high, , if you drink more and fail the DC again, you fall unconscious.

Or you can throw subdual damage with every time the character fail the DC
until the characters falls.

The arms and equipment guide had some good drinking rules. They use a fort check vs. the type of drink, with cumulative penalties for additional drinks per hour. Failure inflicts Wis and Dex damage. This has worked well in our campaign, sure beats 1ed's giving drunks additional hit points.

Treat alcohol as a poison. Each dose (drink) has a primary and secondary effect of -1d4 dex, -1d4 wis, -1d4 int, -1d4 cha and +1 con, with a fort save (DC 15) to avoid.

It doesn't get much simpler than that.
