Natural spell

Axiomatic Unicorn

First Post
What is the current take on natural spell?

Up until now, the only way to cast spells in most animal forms was to use 2 feats (still and silent) and then cast them as 2 level higher.

Now you can only spend one feat and cast them with no level penalty. You do lose the benefits of the spell actually being still and silent, but it seems a real bargain.

So at first I was concerned.

As I thought about it though, it occured to me that the druid is kinda screwed. One of the major abilities, spellcasting, is largely incompatible with another major ability, wildshape.

So it is not that natural spell is broken, but that the prior still silent requirement was unfair.

That is where I stand right now, but I am interested in other thoughts.

Sounds like a good trade-off, given that you don't actually get the benefits of Silent and Still.

I think I am in agreement here. None of the other classes have major abilites that become unaccessable in conjunction with some other ability. Even normally incompatible things like a Wizard wearing armor allows some chance of success.

I would say that it was necessary to add the Natural Spell feat for "game balance" :)
