For something in the "Transformers x" line, I'd buy a Lord of Blades that transformed into a Lightning Rail crew cart.

I cannot recall using a potato as a monster when I was a kid. I seemed to give up on making monsters when the carrot carved into a snake/dragon kept falling on its side so I put toothpicks into it to keep it up and the older kids made fun at it, not knowing what kind of monster it was. I had it attack them and fudged some rolls to kill one of their PCs. Someone got angry and it was eaten. He did not even wait until it was killed by the PCs. It was a take my toys and go home moment.
