Charm person makes you regard the caster as your trusted friend and ally & the spell specifically states it doesn't give you control of the subject.

I think the spell you would need is Mind Blank (Protection8, Sor/Wiz8), which protects you from all devices and spells that detect, influence, or read emotions or thoughts.
