The faith of Castagar is currently in flux, with three major traditiions vying for power.

1 Animism is the religion of the Shaman, Druids and Warlocks of the Old Faith who are still respected for their role as intermediaries between the people and the capricious Spirits and Ancestors who they appease through various folk rituals and through ministering to the healing and spiritual needs of the common folk.
Each city-state and principality in Castagar has its own Coven of Shaman who deal with the local spirits and fae. The largest and most influential is the Coven in the south eastern City of Chey which is lead by the Spirit Mother Izardi, a famed oracle and healer.

2 There is however growing tension between the old Shaman beleifs and the Academy of Scholars in Rocaster which is charged with appointing the nations Judges. The Academy is lead by Lord Degaunt who is a major adherent to the more rational philosphy of the “Way of Divine Reality” which teach that reason, learning and proper human conduct is the true manifestation of Divinity and more important than “worshipping ghosts and old superstitions”.
Lord Degaunt is considering laws to outlaw the Shaman Superstitions which many fear may lead to an inquistion.

3 There is also growing influence from the Chomuvalon Empire whose state religion teaches that only the Sun god Chom-Ashpar has true divinity and all others are mere aspects of His divine creation. A number of converts have denounced both the old faith of the Shaman and the misguided ”Way of Divine Reality” forming hidden communes who are influenced by a prophet known as the Malek Deva. Naturally the Castagari Judges are increasingly concerned about the activities of this subversive faction.

Q. {STG} What Race are the Castagari people?

Q. {STG} What Race are the Castagari people?

A10: [STG] Roughly 60% Human, 15% dwarf, 15% halfling and the other 10% split between elves and the rest and everything else with elves being slight majority of this group.

Q11: [CIT] Why does Jerich's Point (see above), a port city, have a majority dwarf population?

Q11: [CIT] Why does Jerich's Point (see above), a port city, have a majority dwarf population?

A11: [CIT] They are the refugees of a dwarven nation across the Sea that suffered a cataclysm over a hundred years ago. The Castigari took them in and welcomed them to help build up Jerich's Point from a small fishing village to another economic center, which they have done with great vigor.

Q12: [NPC] Who are the leaders of Jerich's Point?

Sudabra Draugi, Dwarf Hurndor (Cleric), Artificer. Background: Merchant

Standing 5 ft tall, solid and broad shouldered Sudabra Draugi is an albino dwarf with snow white skin, beard and a bald head. A commanding figure his cheeks are marked with deep scarification lines and should he remove the silken tunic and breastplate he wears his shoulders and back would reveal intricate bright red tattoo lines and geometric whorls which are a legacy of his homeland.
Sudabra was amongst the refugees from across the sea, son of the original leader, he still remembers the stormy night when the Fisherman Jerich Perkonus pulled their submersible from the water, only to have two dwarfs pop out seeking aid for the boats floundering beyond the reef. Jerich and his people first saved and then welcomed the dwarves and in return the dwarves introduced their skills as masons, artificers and merchants greatly expanding the fortunes of the Point.
Sudabra Draugi is the Head of the ‘Company of Merchant Adventurers’ and known to be a good judge of character, a shrewd negotiator, fair and generous with those who act honourably but vicious to those who try to cheat him. He is quite expressive in his manner, even flamboyant by dwarf standards and is always ready with a wide smile and a readiness to make a deal.
He is also the owner of an improved Kwalish Submersible which helps greatly in maintaining a broad trade network across land and sea.
