Legends & Liars: Traps & Trechery prestige class help?

First Post
I'm trying to get a hold of the stats for the Discreet Companion prestige class from Legends & Liars: Traps & Trechery. However, none of my local shops seem to carry Legends & Liars anymore. I COULD order it online, however, I've been disappointed by enough D20 products that I can't preview to not order anything blind anymore.

Could someone send me the stats or a scan (prefered) of the prestige calss so I can atleast be certain that if anything, this class will be worth getting the book?

Thanks but reviews don't hold much weight with me anymore. This 1 prestige class is the only thing in the book that I'm interested in. If it's indeed good and what I'm looking for I'll get the whole book, if not I'll pass.

If a book has content that I want or can use I want to see if for myself, no more "Ok these people say it's good" and then what interested me turns out to be disappointing. I'm tired of dropping $25+ a book to find out what the book is like.

Personally, I think the prestige classes are the weakest part of Traps and Treachery, and the Discrete Companion the weakest of those.

However, the trap systems ROCK!

This is a very good book, and it's rare that so many people all universally agree. THe book is a rouge sourcebook along with some great traps like the old Grimtooth's series. There are many ideas and the book is very adaptible.

Crothian, everyone is entitled to their opinion, except I don't DM nearly as much as I play and I already have Book of Challenges and Stronghold Builder's Guide. Another traps book isn't going to help me much. :)

I realize that and that's one of the great things in the world. Neither of those two books really has lists of traps or is considered a trap book. The three books really have very little overlap. I'm not saying go out and get it, just expressing my opinion as usual. :D

*whines*

I just want to see the prestige class so I know if it's what I'm expecting. If there's any other stuff in the book worth getting then all the better, but the other stuff isn't what I'm interested in at the moment.

traps and trechery

this is IMO by FAR the best product that has come out for 3e. I use it all the time in my campaign. It has some pretty good prestige classes - discreet companion is one of the weaker but usefull as a DM tool. Its got new rogue feats and even a thievery domain. You get some info on setting up a guild although not as much as in the quintissential rogue - and a large portion is dedicated to new traps. Vol. II is ALL traps. its one of the best investments you can make for your game and well worth the money. I had to go to 4 different game stores to find mine (that was before the large 2nd printing)

The DC is a tough class to summarize (ruleswise) without reprinting the whole text. Most of its powers are "get a bonus power from this list" types, which means the whole list has to be printed to let you know what it does.

Here's what I remember: weak BAB, good Will save, requires ranks of Profession: prostitute or escort, gets many Cha based, mind control powers, and learns secrets from clients. Like I said, the powers are selectable, but there are additional requirements on which ones you can take, so you can't get the good ones first.

Not what you're looking for, I know. But considering that most people here want to support publishers, you likely won't get what you want.

Add me to list of those that think no one would be disappointed in this product. I worked it into a game literally 15 minutes after purchase, and it fundamentally altered how I run traps forever.
