D&D 5E June Unearthed Arcana?

I really hope they aren't planning on putting a bunch of untested stuff in said book like they often do. It's almost always the stuff that didn't get publicly tested that I, at least, am usually unhappy with.

Well, we have books in a row (Wildemount, Theros and Icewind Dale) that put out Race material with no public testing (the Goliath is apparently in Icewind Dale with adjusted stats), and Eberron also had new Orcs that were not tested publicly. It might be that they aren't testing new Race material at this point (they are easier to make than Class options, at least).

Other than Race marerial (or People/Folk/Species, as it turns out in the end: Crawford pointed out on Twitter today that "Species" is a Medieval word, and fitting for Fantasy set with that flavor), I don't expect we'll see any other new player options. Which means, interestingly, if every option other than the two Theros Subclasses gets in (super doubtful), and the new Race approach and material is ~20 pages or less (likely, given comparable examples), then the new book will have a players option section about the same page length as Eberron.

Wait what?! Any clue at all what they're changing?

Per Crawford in the press release material, they are adjusting the being conditioned to Arctic climates (which is already pretty handy if you are in extreme cold) to specifically mean having Cold Resistance. They are including the PC rules to encourage people playing Goliaths coming out of the Spine of the World, and there have been indications that visiting the Goliaths in their natural habitat is a portion of the Adventure.

Nice!
I would still prefer them to make Stone's Endurance to give resistence to the triggering damage, or be usable more often, but this is a good change for sure.

Well, if we presume that psionics isn't in the fall book, there's always a possibility we'll see another try in that arena in the next few months. (I wouldn't expect it much sooner than that, as I suspect they'll be trying a new approach and want to test it internally first).

I think the Subclass and Spell approach was at least being considered for the Fall book, but time will tell how it shakes out. I expect much of what was tested won't make it in the end, based on history and how oddball some of the options were.

I suspect they (WotC) are a wee bit preoccupied in examining the game in various ways to look for means to improve elements of inclusion and remove/update potentially egregious language found to have a basis in or perpetuating racist (or other damaging) stereotypes (regardless of any absence of malice in the use of said language).

I would not expect a new Unearthed Arcana for at least another few weeks or so (simply a wild guess).
I don't think the timeline matches up with the theory. As others have said, there have been indications that they're backing off on UA articles for a while now. And I don't think reexamining the game this way would occupy 100% of their time and attention anyway.

Wild speculation is always like that, and that's all my comments were...wild speculation. :)

"We are sorry, but due to real world events, we have had to delay releasing Psionics because we need to rework the section on telepathy and the Thought Police." ;)
