Improved Spell Capacity [Epic]
Prerequisite
Ability to cast spells of the normal maximum spell level in at least one spellcasting class.

Benefit
When you select this feat, you gain one spell slot per day of any level up to one level higher than the highest-level spell you can already cast in a particular class. You must still have the requisite ability score (10 + spell level) in order to cast any spell stored in this slot. If you have a high enough ability modifier to gain one or more bonus spells for this spell level, you also gain the bonus spells for this spell level. You must use the spell slot as a member of the class in which you can already cast spells of the normal maximum spell level.

Special
You can gain this feat multiple times.

Hmmm... this brings to mind that maybe there is a way for Bard to gain higher level spells when Epic (7th - 9th level spells)?

Perhaps Epic levels in Lyric Thaumaturge (Complete Mage)? That class already grants some 1 wizard spell of each level to the Bard, maybe at Epic levels it should grant higher level spells in conjunction with the Improved Spell Capacity and Spell Knowledge feats??

Technically, of course, a Bard cannot even create new Epic spells.

I am just planning ahead.

Sublime Chord allows a bard to cast 9th-level spells pre-epic already.

Thanks. I'll look into it. It might provide some good input for an EPIC Mystic Thaumaturge

Wouldn't Heighten Spell and Improved Spell Capacity take care of the problem?

Heighten Spell [Metamagic]
Benefit
A heightened spell has a higher spell level than normal (up to a maximum of 9th level). Unlike other metamagic feats, Heighten Spell actually increases the effective level of the spell that it modifies. All effects dependent on spell level (such as saving throw DCs and ability to penetrate a lesser globe of invulnerability) are calculated according to the heightened level. The heightened spell is as difficult to prepare and cast as a spell of its effective level.

I suppose so.

This was only an aside, but thanks for the solution. Who knows..., if the campaign goes high enough level...?

What can an epic bard do? :p

Many things...

For one thing, Epic Bards can get fanatics to fight for them almost at will.

Bardic Knowledge goes off the chart.

Bardic music can affect EVERYONE (even mindless creatures)

They can makle all spellcasters spell make a Concentration check to cast spells as if he or she were casting defensively, and all such checks have a penalty equal to half the Bard's level.

And lots of other things. Like take 20 levels of Wizard. :)
