It's from the old Tomb of Horrors module, infamous for its many deadly traps. Sticking anything in the mouth on the wall of that picture was like sticking it into a Sphere of Annihilation.

Hmm im also fairly sure i can make a level 30 arcane spellcaster specialising in force spells that can kill it. Its another one of those "class x cant touch it!" things though, which i hate.

Well, as long as you can find force spells that bypass spell resistance. Which, of course, given WotC's hatred of the Evocation school and love of the Conjuration school, you can.

Yeah ... I liked the Entropomancer idea. Another possibility might be asking a Disciple of the Void.

(Of course this assumes a spare member of these prestige classes happen to be taking an afternoon stroll in the area where you happen to stumble across such a thing or just "hanging around".)

Another test would be to put it into a bag of holding .... The results will probably help narrow down your guesses somewhat.
