Looking for thoughts and input concerning Grappling for 5e.
I want it to work better for monks or at least a monk or any other character that takes the Grappler Feat.
There are a couple of ways I could do this and am looking for input.
Option 1
For the monk Martial Arts change to the following
When you use the Attack action with an unarmed
strike or a monk weapon on your turn, you can make
one unarmed strike or grapple as a bonus action. For example, if
you take the Attack action and attack with a quarterstaff,
you can also make an unarmed strike as a bonus
action, assuming you haven't already taken a bonus
action this turn.
Option 2
If a monk grapples, that still qualifies for any of their features that are allowed with an Attack Action. So then with Martial Arts and Flurry of Blows a monk could grapple and then strike an opponent.
Option 3
Modify the Grappler feat to allow the character's grapple action to still qualify for any class feature that is allowed with an Attack Action.
Thoughts? Unforseen problems?
