I kept thinking of Friesian Destriers. Which are warhorses from Frisia (albeit an alternate spelling).

History of the Northern Kingdom and more

The Frisii and The Northern Kingdom are a part of mine custom world called the World of Urde.

Update of the history of The Northern Kingdom.

After the "Tribe War", the tribe felt apart and four groups were formed, One that was led by Helcris travelled to the Far North, and became the Frisii. The Frisii build under the supervision of Helcris, a large tribe with a temple for Malkar, The God of War in the middle. Because of the attacks of Orcs and Dark Elves, they build a wooden wall around the tribe. Some years later, the people grew out of the tribe and it became a thorp with a wooden wall around it for the defences. Later it grew into a town. Through the help of the Elves, it became a town with stone houses, and stone walls for the defence against intruders, also their weaponery were almost equal to the Elven. Four years later, the Frisii discover the spark of Socerery, and Socerers now helped the community, and to help the defenders of the town. Druid groves were build, because the Frisii has still have a strong bond with nature. In the Year of Progress(ca. 950), the town grew into a small city and it was called Helcris City, and the Frisii began to trade with the Elves. Because of this, the Elves and the Frisii became deep friends, and they began to import and export new ideas with each other. Elven rangers began to help with the defences, and the Frisii defend the Elves against Orcs and Dark Elves. Helcris City began to grow in a Large city(ca. 1000), and many Frisii began to build other cities, because of the growth of the Frisii people. The harbour city Larhingen and many other cities were build, with the help of the Elves. Ships began to travel to other lands for trade or war. Later in the year 1050 The Northern Kingdom was born. In the beginning of their Kingdom, they were lead by Helcris, a war-priest of Malkar (God of War).Temples were build for Malkar, and feasts were all about war. Years later, Helcris and others were killed in the wars against the Dark Elves, so because of that dreadful wars, many people thought, that war is not the important thing. The single heir, called Arthgon the Saint, converted the Frisii to Urde, the deity, who sacrificed himself, to form this world, and the Frisii became were more charmatic and wiser. A Year later, after the conversion mountains were formed by Urde, to protect them against hostile creatures and evil men, and Helcrist City became 'City of Lions, because of the two knights that transformed into lions and saved the city. One of the main problems was, that some of their old enemies the Drow, still had a tribe in the forest called Darkwoods.

The Spider Mountains: In this legendly and abhorrent mountain, they say still lives the Arachs and their Evil Deity Arachnar, who came to this world, when the first dinosaurs came. The exactly location is not known, untill it is too late.
