D&D 5E Forgotten Realms Timeline

Can any of you Realms Loremasters tell me what a decent year in the 3E FR timeline might be for starting a campaign?

Note: I have a couple of the 3E FR sourcebooks (e.g. Silver Marches) and will be using them for reference in my 5E campaign. I do not want to worry about the 4E changes, and how 5E fixed them back. I would just like to start my 5E campaign and have the 3E material be relevant / authoritative.

My Silver Marches game is taking place in 1372 DR, the default 3e date.

As to how relevant info in the 3e and earlier books will be with 5e material, I don't know. The setting guide for Legacy of the Crystal Shard gives post-Sundering info for Icewind Dale, but says it's still useful for any point in the timeline. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, though.
