D&D 5E Forgotten Realms Map

I am new to Forgotten Realms. Since it is so popular I figured I would give it a shot. I like what I see so far. I purchased a campaign book (3e) and the pull out map in the back did not come with it. I read stuff here and there about the sundering and other big events. I think there are two or more official maps. One is pre-sundering and the other is post-sundering.

I read somewhere that 5e gave it a rewind to pre-sundered history. Anyone know for sure? I need the "current" map. If WotC 5e is per-sundered, then that is what I want. Where can I get the best looking official detailed map of the Forgotten Realms?

Oh, but there is so much more to the Realms than just Mike Schley's sword coast map... Whole continents have been detailed!

Unfortunately, I don't have any specific links for maps, other than what's over at Candlekeep. Is linking to other forums from this one allowed? (sorry, still a noob here)

I found a reasonably priced copy of the Interactive Forgotten Realms Atlas a couple years back... though as with most out-of-print gaming products, the prices frequently soar to ridiculous heights (looks like ~$150 and up on Amazon.com today).

They aren't the most artistically impressive maps I've ever seen, but it is basically a collection of all the maps for the Realms that I've ever seen all stuck together into one fairly easy to navigate package since you can do stuff like go from world view to a closer view of the Sword Coast, then click on Waterdeep and bring up the city map, then go even further into detail and click on any buildings which had been given official maps (like the Yawning Portal Inn).

Might be worth keeping an eye out for changes in price for a copy if "all the realms" is really what you want a map of, even though some of the details of those maps have been changed over the last few editions.

You can check out the Forgotten Realms Wiki (just search for it in Google). It has maps under Portals - Geography. If nothing else that should give you a good place to start and get a "lay of the land".

The sword coast adventure guide gives most of the info on the current realms.

The Sundering didn't rewind the Realms, but it did undo a number of changes made to the setting during the 2e, 3e and 4e eras. While the current year is still approximately 1490 DR, the 5e Realms more closely resemble the 1e Realms (Abeir and Toril have separated again, many gods that died during the Time of Troubles have returned to life, and so on).

Check out the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide for more.
