So much fantasy art has to do with characters or people or animals - what I'm always looking for is landscapes, buildings, rooms, etc. without people etc. all over them that I can show to my players and say "that's what you see". And good ones are hard to find...
Ah, old school fantasy art can be great. It tends to be really hit or miss with me, but it hits, it hits hard.That's a tough one. I'm a bit of a "fantasy classicist" when it comes ot art, though. My favorite has got to be one of the following Frazetta pieces.

I don't think so. In fact, I think that's an easy way to make some bad assumptions about the player and their characters. Sometimes people just like art, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with what else they like or why they like it.He less to do with the media and more to do with the act of role playing, I think you can tell a lot about a player (and their characters) based on the artwork they enjoy and thus use for inspiration.
