Fantasy Toys - what do you have?

Toys that I use in gaming? None.

I am, however, one of these really big nerds who still collect toys. So, I've got a drekload of LotR figures, a WC3 figure (Muradin Bronzebeard), and a couple of Xevoz figures. And my new Inuyasha figures.

I just don't want to touch that one.

Don't so much have fantasy toys (well unless you count my Whiplash figure from the new Masters of the Universe line, might make for a good gigantic lizardfolk some day I suppose), but I have a stack load of GI Joe's that I bought to use as figures for when I run a campaign I'm working on. Planning to run a GI Joe vs Cobra campaign using the Spycraft rules, which imho are perfectly suited for that sort of game.

I don't so much have toys as I'm always searching for cheap miniature toys that serve as miniatures in the game.

There was a store in Kansas City that has an online presence. Too lazy to look it up, but I think it's www.ustoys.com, or just search for "U.S. Toys +Kansas City" and you'll find it. But, they sell a lot of cheap plastic miniatures (among tons of other stuff) and some of them are great for D&D minis. I bought a bag of eyeballs, and glued them onto 2 inch bases, and so I have a group of ready-made Beholders. I also have a ton of these colored plastic frogs, and the red, blue, green, and black ones all make great Slaad, and I have them glued onto bases as well. I have sarcophagus keychains of which I have removed the keychain portion and they work great as sarcopagi, and they have mummies which are just the perfect size as minis.

Nope, no fantasy toys made the transition from child to adulthood.

However, there are still some Tonka Trucks, legos, Army Men, Star Wars figures, Micronauts, fisher price people and an HO train set sitting in boxes somewhere in my dad's barn...

Literally or figuratively.

I half-assedly collect "wrong" plushies.

So far I have Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, Shoggoth, a "grey" alien, Ghidorah, and a few others. I'd really like to find a high-quality demon or devil. There are some cheap-looking ones out there, but nah. (The reason I won't buy the Deep One from the plush-Cthulhu line is that it's cheap-looking.)

I own several plush cats, most of which have "UK" or "Wildcats" on them, or are royal blue; the University of Kentucky is my alma mater.

I have about 2000 D&D miniatures, and -- let's be honest -- those are toys.

One of the biggest mistakes of my life was waking up on my 13th birthday (back in 1981), deciding -- just like that -- that I was too old for toys, and giving away my Star Wars action figures and playsets. Even in played condition, they'd be worth an absolute fortune now. The really funny thing is that I didn't regret it until I was in my mid-20s.

I agree which is why my 4th toy pic above is a diorama of D&D minis. In addition to the ones in that pic, I also have the treant on display which I added to the "good" toys after I took the 2nd picture above.

I should stress that I don't consider normal miniatures such as those made by Reaper, Games Workshop, Fenryll etc as toys.
