Evil Monks!

What's a good build for an evil monk? I'm thinking of feats and magic items and PrCs. I can't seem to find any good evil monk PrCs and I've looked all over the place.

Sacred Fist is very good.

Tatooed monk also works very well.

Otherwise, stick too monk and decide what you want them to do. You ahve the grapple monk (very effective in large quantities, focus on strength), the tripping monk (focus on strength), the Spring attack monk (a lot of fun in restricted movement areas, focus on wisdom and Stunning fist and max jump, balance, tumble, climb) and the big wallop monk (leap attack, power attack, charge, stunning fist) and finally the disarming monk (very annoying to PCs).

When you play a monk as a PC you generally go for the finesse monk, which has great survivability on the long haul (good AC) but usually is frustrating in the damage dealing capacity. Monks are a lot more fun as a DM :] . I usually focus on two of the archetypes i gave you before. As you noticed, strength is usually one of the most important abilities the monk should focus on.

A "good evil monk" just sounds confused to me. ;)

From what I've been told, Complete Adventurer has a decent selection of monk-oriented material. You could always go for the assassin class, or possibly the psionic monk PRc from Expanded PsiHB.

Is this an NPC? If so, you could always skip the PrC in favour of a monster template.

There's an evil monk in AEG's Mercenaries that's a master at smashing weapons and inflicting hiedous amounts of damage (treated as one size larger!)

In my Realms game the PC's encountered a lot of evil monks, as they were opposed by the Order of the Long Death, which is an order of assassin-monks who venerate the concept of death (and give token acknowledgement to whatever deity holds the portfolio). There is a good Monk of the Long Death PrC in Players Guide to Faerun.

While it is an organization specific class to the Realms, it is also quite usable as a generic Death-cultist monk. Besides continued monk abilities, by 10 levels it gets poison use, a death attack (as per assassin, levels stacking if you've got that class too), death touch (as per the domain abilitiy, using PrC levels, stacking with Cleric if you've got it), Death Knell as a spell-like ability 1/day, and bonuses against death attempts. It trades off fortitude saves, a different skill list, and the normal monk special abilities you would get.

IMC, I have an order of assassins that are multiclass monk/rogues with the Ascetic Rogue feat from Complete Adventurer.

When my buddy ran a Greyhawk game, most of his Scarlet Brotherhood monks took feats such as Improved Disarm and Improved Sunder, and went after the PCs' prized magic items.

In the Eberron Campaign Setting, monks of the Mockery are wicked cool, with Eberron feats such as Flensing Strike and Serpent Strike.

Monk/Shadowdancers are also wicked cool.

monk/warmind/fist tends to work out in interesting ways. If your dm will let you go in and out of monk freely (seems to be a fairly common houserule sometimes) you could probably do without the fist.

Monks belt and improved natural attack work wonders.

None of this is particularly good or evil based however. You may simply want to work with your dm to come up with one and flesh it out on the houserules board.

There are a few things around however.. for some reason I am thinking of something called 'flensing strike' but I cant remember where it is from..hmm..

(hey plane, bit off topic perhaps, but why did you pick psychic warrior over warmind? I'll see if I can find your build in a moment, perhaps it is answered there. although I guess the feats may have been the most obvious part..lol)

Edit: ahh..no prcs allowed in that campaign..that makes sense then.
