Elf Cross-Breeds. (EX: Moon Elf+Avariel=...?)

I'd keep it simple by having the child have the same abilites as the mother. So if a moon elf male and a sun elf female had a kid, the child would functionally be a sun elf, although it would have some moon elf features, such as green eyes flecked with gold, fairer skin than most sun elves, etc.

I think that this would be the best way to go. The mother being avariel, and the father being moon elf, and considering that in nearly all cases, the children tend to favor the mother, they'd be tending towards avariel. If not simply for the fact that the kids spend 2 years in their mothers' womb, probably because since the avariel are more powerful elves, their traits would overwrite some of the moon elf traits. Something like that.

In general, I am not seeking to create a template, but decide how the children would develop in terms of wings. Stats, gender, facial structure, height, weight, etc, will all be based off of their parent's stats, but the wing situation is rather iffy. I think that considering that the parents are living in an avariel city, the mother (who is quite the mage) will tweak the development of the children to have then develop wings(if they do not develop them naturally), so as not to be at a disadvantage.

Makes sense. But may I just ask you a question? You mention that the pregnancy phase for an elf is two years. Where are you getting this information? Is it in Races of Faerun or some other suppliment book? Because I have seen nothing in the core rulebooks about the length of elf pregnancies.

The Complete book of Elves said they were pregnate for 2 years. However, the 3e article for elves in dragon has changed that to one year. Me I still use the 2 year for elves, but now it varies from DM to DM. Some feel elves should be pregnate about the same as humans cause of the elven negative to constitution.
