Where can I get a free dungeon mapping program? Im not looking for anything real fancy maybe just a drag and place type thing you know, something I can just put a map together for my game wtih. Dont need a million features just something that will create a map. I have used paint but a lot of effort is needed to get a dungeon map drawn in it. So if you know where to download something then drop me a line. Thanks.

When faced with this problem, I've ended up looking at a number of different options, most of them fairly expensive. Ultimately the best alternative I've arrived at is using GIMP, which is a free program that essentially has all the functionality of the uber-expensive Adobe Photoshop - GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program and the tutorials that are found at the Cartographer's Guild, which is here - Cartographers Guild :: Homepage

It's not the quick and easy fix you're looking for, but once you learn how to use it, it becomes quick and easy.

Good luck.

One other is Autorealm. I haven't checked to see what's up with them recently, but it's a useful program.

Although it's cool that Autorealm is free, it has a deeper learning curve than most people are willing to put their time into. I don't know what they've been up to lately but there have been few updates to the program for a couple of years at least. Autocad programs before CC3 were just too awkward for my purposes IMO.
