D&D 5E Dungeon in a Box, feelings?

I do the mini in a box variant because I am into painting minis lately and so far love it! But the whole Dungeon in a Box thing did not seem as much value for my needs. YMMV

I'm not a fan of subscription services generally, so I wish I could take a look at the backlog and purchase a single box or something. Sadly I don't think there's the option to do that.

Wow, I hadn't heard of this, but it looks like fun! My group still isn't back to playing in person yet, though. Might consider trying out the digital subscription, but the physical version is super-cool.

I've been eyeballing Dungeon in a Box and was wonder how people who have taken the plunge feel about them.
From skimming the website it looks like those room-ish sized cards with grid maps for generic rooms. Not sure if there is more to really differentiate beyond that but shrug. I've used cards like that at times & found they tend to range from useful to frustrating trying to find the right cards/close enough cards. Generally probably more useful than not.

I found moving to a tvbox(like this one) with local vtt software like arkenforge loaded with maps to be orders of magnitude more useful though.

I've done loot crate in the past, wouldn't be adverse to doing this if I didn't already have a room overflowing with minis and books.
