Drinks to try on my 21st?

If you want to try a fruity drink give Tequila Rose a shot. It is a Mexican cream liqueur. It is a mixture of strawberry cream liqueur and tequila. The tequila is very subtle and really only gives a spirit flavor to the liqueur. The strawberry and cream flavors are predominate and this tastes more like a strawberry milkshake than a tequila based liqueur. My wife likes this one.

Tip #2 (after the No Empty Stomach tip): Don't... I repeat: DON'T!!!!... mix distilled beverages (whisky, licquor, gin, rum) with fermented beverages (beer, wine, sake). It is a recipe to dizziness, projectile-vomit and a I-wish-I-was-dead headache on the next day. So don't.

Or, as we used to say back in my younger days, "Liquor before Beer; no fear. Beer before Liquor; never sicker."

Black Jack - Pepsi or Coke mixed with Jack Daniels

Castille Gold Puerto Rican Rum (don't get the Silver, it ain't worth paying for)

Oh yeah, and be thankful you don't live in AZ. Our governor will not allow us to have alcohol brought into the state by mail because he is married to a woman with her own business.

Mixed drinks:
Vodka with cranberry juice.
Anything that requires ice cream, baileys and a blender.
Another vote for a whisky sour.

Shooters:
hmmm most of em got names that probably violate ENWorld's Granny rule.

Others:
Amber port is always nice if you want something more mellow (just don't mix it with anything else).

I'm a big fan of irish Whisky and single malt scotch, but probably not what you're looking for.

My hangover avoidance recipe (note: this is NOT a remedy):

Before passing out :D drink at least a pint of water (most important), take one vitamin E (add a vitamin C if you smoke) and a single tylenol (never heard of this being dangerous with alcohol before, but I'm no pharmacist).

Won't stop a hangover from happening usualy, but the water will help mitigate the headache and the vitamins seem to help with the 'Oh my god, all my blood has turned rancid' feeling.

Hm, I don't drink at all, so I can't help you out much here. Just don't drink if it's only for the sake of drinking. That would be unwise.

As curiosity demands, I must ask. When did you and the husband get married?

- Cuba Libre (you guys call it Rum-&-Coke)

Minor correction; to the best of my knowledge, a Cuba Libre is a rum and Coke with lime juice in it. And a fancier name.

While I doubt you'll find it at a bar, Amarula is a damn fine alcoholic beverage, if you like butterscotch. A fine something to have around the house for sipping after dinner, but hard to find in public places.

If you want to get it done all in one drink - and this might be a west coast modification of the name - a Poor Suffering Bastard. 1oz white rum, 1oz dark rum, 1oz spiced rum, topped off with 151 (yes, overproof rum). Meant to be consumed as a single monster shot. For the hardcore, chug a beer afterwards. For the next half-hour, your body thinks the beer was rum, and you fall down.

Also, there's a thing that can be done with creme de cacao and amaretto that ends up tasting like a peanut butter cup...Orcus take my soul if I can recall the name.

And this works amazingly well.... Tested both ways and proved true in both cases! :heh:

As for drinks... a Morgan and Coke is always nice, but maybe still a bit more than you are looking for.

For an adventure, maybe a Three Wisemen? (Jack Daniels, Jim Bean and Johnnie Walker) There's a ton of variations on this one though, each bar is probably different.
