I really appreciated that The Doctor didn't cry this episode.

Belinda has been great so far. It's refreshing to have a companion who challenges The Doctor. We haven't had that since Donna.

I'm hoping the Mrs Flood is Romana or some other Time Lord. I'd like to have them come back. I miss their pompousness. The last of the Time Lords has been played out. Let's do some more mad person in a box.

Yeah, can't have Gallifrey gratuitously destroyed again if they don't bring it back.

My Youtube feed wants me to watch a bunch of videos from people saying Doctor Who is over and done with, but most of them seem like the kind of people who think it it has become woke and therefore must be consigned to the dustbins of history.

I think Disney would like having another IP with an enormous history of "content" (I kind of hate this term now, but), that appeals to an incredibly diverse audience, and on which they - let's be honest - really don't need to spend as much on as they are. So, my think-bone says they'll keep it going.

To be clear, Disney does not own it. The BBC does. Disney is currently distributing it outside the UK (though they did, as you imply, pay handsomely for the privilege). If they decide to stop the distribution deal for whatever reason, it can still continue just as it used to. Whether the BBC would pause it in that situation I don't know, but I suspect they make quite a bit of money from it. Just the merchandising licenses are probably raking in a fair penny.

I’ve never heard that rumour (hopefully it didn’t come from YouTube….) but fat chance of that happening. The BBC doesn’t work like regular companies. There’s no chance it would sell one of its most important properties. I’m not even sure they’d be allowed to!
