Do you like Warforged in your Forgotten Realms?

My DM mentioned to me this weekend that History of the Forgotten Realms has like a paragraph that puts Warforged in the Forgotten Realms. Its suppose to basicly be a setup for 4E FR. Are you for it or against having such a non-FR race in FR?

I don't like it. Warforged are a race with a decidedly Eberron feel, IMO, and have absolutely no business being anywhere else, with the rare exception of one which might have been somehow magically displaced or traveled by spelljammer.

As long as they aren't pushed as a MAJOR setting element, I can live with them. IMC, warforged are mercenaries from Acheron, and clerics of Bane enjoy summoning them.

I hadn't heard of this before. Seems rather...well, strange...to me....

While I don't currently play in the FR and have only done so on one other occasion, I think keeping Warforge Eberron only is a very necessary step as it is one of the things that differentiate that setting from others. Once you mix and match, including inserting Eberronisms into FR, you dilute what makes each world unique.

As a race, I have absolutely no problem with Warforged. I think they're pretty cool, actually.

Someone mentioned Art re-use in some other thread and I was hard-pressed to say if I'd ever seen this until I looked at the Grand History book last week. There's a lot of re-used art in it, a lot of it from Eberron products. There's one picture of a warforged in it, but it's being used to illustrate something else that occurred; someone's armor or something, not that warforged were in the Realms.

I don't like the idea of war-forged from Ebberon in any setting.

What I do like is the premise for sentient golem/construct characters.

Warforged fit a heckuva lot quicker than Spelljamming into the Realms, IMO.

Sure. The whole point of FR is that it has all these forgotten portals to places all over the place. Warforged in the Realms is an easy sell to me. Pretty much any race can be, since that's the whole point of the Realms as near as I can tell.
