Interesting how different people have different expectations and things which they appreciate.

Personally, I really like the d20Modern rules and think they are anything but a mess. I'm really looking forward to playing/DMing with them, and see lots of potential.
Er, perhaps I was unclear. The Tri-Tac rules that Morrow Project was published with are a mess. Not d20 Modern.

As much as I think d20 Modern is incredibly mediocre, it's still better than what Morrow Project had.

Wow. I can understand someone not being satisfied with d20 Modern, but calling it incredibly mediocre ?

I personally think it is very good. I have been playing it for the past two weeks, and I see a twinkle in my player's eyes I haven't seen in years in role playing games.

Incredibly mediocre ?

Damn...

Dumb question for Charles Ryan (if he reads this)

Did you use 'The Morrow Project' as a sort fo basis for 'Plague World'.

Dunno why I'm even asking this, but the idea of the Rip Van Teams is -logically- Morrow.

I've been *kicking* this idea around in the back of my head for a while... :)

There's a D20 Morrow project Yahoo! group that's pretty much inactive. I posted a conversion of the blue undead there. I used the radiation attacks from Dragonstar as the basis for the conversion for the undead. There's various undead creatures in the D20 modern and other D20 modern sourcebooks that should help as well.

The Dire bears and wolves from the MM can probably be used with very minor tweaking such as changing the AC values to a Defense value. The feral template from Savage Species might be a good thing to use for some of the creatures. There's a neanderthal (sp?) in Frostburn and IIRC those are in the original MP book so again IMO that write up from Frostburn can be used with minor tweaking.

Charles wrote a weapons book for Green Ronin that might be helpful. but again IIRC most of the weapons for MP where from the '60's and '70's so not all of the weapons from Charles book or the Weapons Locker from WOTC would help in converting the weapons from MP. Of course as is popular on the MP Yahoo! list you could IYC set the WWIII date to sometime in the late '80's or early to mid '90s. I'm not a rule's guru so I haven't conveted any of the vehicles in the MP book. There might be a conversion to D20 modern for the various APC's floating around on the Web somewhere.

Blood and Guts II looks like a good starting point if you're going to 'convert' Morrow, though there shouldn't be much to convert, since it's basically a setting with some kludgy rules.

Morrow Project

I have recently re-found my Morrow Project Rules and never considered using d20 Modern rules for that.

I love the setting, ran a campaign ohh back when it first came out with one friend.

Time to dust it off and nuke the USA once more

Morrow Project was awesome, bad rules or not (and I'm sure the rules were bad since we never ever considered using them again, LOL). We were terrified of combat due to its extreme deadliness and hit location/severity tables. The Frozen Chosen and those radiation vampires (what were they called? Night People?) were cool. We played MP about a month maybe before converting to D&D, LOL. There was a nuclear blast on earth at the same time there was a magical gate opening on Oerth and it sucked us through but we were all hideously burned. We ended up in a cage full of demons some wizard was collecting to use as an army. He thought we were were the ugliest of the bunch, LOL. We ended up escaping and getting our flesh back somehow. It was the only cross-genre/cross-setting campaign we did, IIRC. Fun, but a bit silly in origin. The D&D campaign lasted the rest of the summer and was quite fun (yes, we immediately switched to 1e rules --- this was back in '86 or '87).

Has anyone thought of using Spycraft 2.0 for Morrow? The new ruleset is just begging to be taken for a spin using all modern settings and the Battlegrounds book for 1.0 had some great PA insight.

When I first cracked into the biz, the very first thing I thought of doing after Poisoncraft was a d20 version of Morrow Project. I contacted the owners about licensing the setting for a d20 treatment, and they declined. I believe they've publicly stated that they are planning on doing a d20 version of Morrow Project, but right now it's just vapor unfortunately.

Morrow Project (along with Space Opera) was my first non-D&D RPG true love.

D20 Morrow Project

I have been thinking of switching over my campaign to D20 for a while now as the Morrow Project system is very dated. As others have said its Shooting system if all the rules are used its extremly deadly and there is very poor character advancement.

My Campaign takes place with the War starting in 2011 and the Teams being frozen in 2010 to make it more up to date.

My Problem is its a huge deal to use D20 as its compltetly different than the % System of MP. I am sort of dreading the Change as being the GM its a lot of work for me. Also Combat in D20 can be dangerious but nothing like the MP level of Danger.

The Campaign is at Morrow Project Recon Team CA-4

If anyone has ideas please tell!

Thanks
Clive
