Christmas swag!

Besides a trio of long sleeved t-shirts, my parents gave me this 6qt steamer. I fell in love with it when I saw it in store; Mom went back and got it for me.

Its bigger capacity and flat contouring should lead to a better overall steaming experience than my smaller, curved folding steamer basket inserts.

Now to find a place to store it…

Nice! My big kitchen gift this year was a Le Creuset enameled cast iron dutch oven. It was kind of a big purchase but our budget eased up a little bit recently and I'd been kind of wanting one for years. Plus, the specific one I got was discounted by over $100.

And some TSR logo shirts…

Did my family spoil me in my nerd-dom? Yes they did!!!

I got less gaming-related stuff this year than in previous years. Mostly just tangentally related to gaming.
  • A poker-chip case for storing Savage Worlds Bennies
  • A D&D-themed cookbook and cocktail book
  • A t-shirt that has an arrow indicating "I'm with Flanking Bonus"
  • A drinking card game to play while watching Hockey
It was a good Christmas.

Normally I buy my self a couple of things, some POD AD&D adventures or minatures or something, but this year all I did was by my daughters a set of cat dice. She is three and so this is just her second set of dice.

Fun fact my kids don't associate the word dice with the d6 or the cube shape, they celebrate the whole diversity of dice shapes as standard.

I had a 12" pan with a lid and steamer basket, which was really nice for steaming and stuff like clams. I was making something a few years back and the cheap enameled coating on the inside of the pan got pitted. I don't think it was enamel or if it was it was a very thin coat and inferior. Ninja makes a similar one, but I can always use the old one to steam just not for cooking in the pan part. Maybe I'll pick it up at some point. I have one of those steamer baskets inserts and they aren't very good. What size capacity is the bloomhouse? Storing kitchenware gets to be tough the more you get.

I wanted a Dutch oven for years and finally got one about 3 years ago. It's a 7.3 QT Amazon Basics enameled which was only $72.00. Le Creuset is the gold standard, but I could never justify the cost, so $100 off is a good deal. I use mine all the time. Here's a tip; I have a 10.5-inch flat Lodge cast iron fajita pan that I put under my Dutch oven, so it acts as a diffuser and keeps stuff like chili, spaghetti sauce, soups and stews from burning and sticking to the bottom.

You’re going to love it, I’m certain!

In my family we have an agreement that only the kids get gifts but my brother's family insists on breaking that agreement every year, by gifting me something. This year they got me a nice, expensive cardigan. It's identical to the one they got me last year, with the exception of the buttons, which is fine because it's the one I have that I wear the most,

I knew it was coming so I made sure to have a "used" dashcam in my car, that I gave to him. not wrapped or anything. I knew that he didn't have one.
